On May 18, brothers from the Col. Friedrich K. Hecker Camp #443 installed an informational sign about Col. Hecker in the Summerfield, Illinois Cemetery where he is buried. He was a resident of Summerfield after leaving Germany, and he had a farm somewhere in the distance behind the sign. There is also a directional sign with a photo of his monument, taking visitors in the direction of his grave. For more about Col.
