
Adam Kuntz in his Civil War days. He enlisted on 1-16-1862 as a private in the 15th Indiana Battery. Was taken prisoner at Harper’s Ferry, paroled the next morning & taken taken to Chicago where he was exchanged. Returning to Indianapolis, he was armed & placed back in the service.
He participated in the chase & captured of Morgan, marched through Kentucky, on to Tennessee & joined General Burnside & took part in the defense of Knoxville, TN when besieged by General Longstreet. After the east TN campaign, he was in Atlanta, GA under General Sherman(chasing out Scarlett) then under Thomas to Nashville, was sent to Washington, Wilmington & Raleigh & then home to Indiana.
